Come meet local artists who make comics! Alma Mater Tacoma is working with Destiny City Comics to host independent writers and artists who can’t wait to sell you their latest zine or other concoction.

Destiny City Freakycon IV

Tacoma’s mini-horror con is back for a fourth strike! Avoid admission fees and show off your cosplay abilities at Stadium District’s spookiest post-Crypticon event.
 
Featuring the return of special guests, actress Jackie Neyman Jones, director Tonja Atomic, producer Rachel Jackson, and production crew Skullface Astronaut, followed by a special screening of Manos Returns at Weird Elephant at The Grand Cinema.
Michael Koehler returns with more chilling Lore of the Lords lore books. Event poster by the artist is coming soon.
 
Local horror shock rock industrial band Murder Weapons will have a special promotional table, as seen at Crypticon Seattle. Check them out on Spotify, Amazon Music, iTunes, Youtube, Bandcamp and many more!
 
Meet Tacoma Ghost Tours will be there spinning tales of Tacoma’s most terrifying legends, grab some of their merch featuring true local icons.

FREE PIZZA BUFFET! Meet local artists! Win prizes and help support local authors! All at one event!

Destiny City Comics is springing for a free pizza buffet on April 20, inviting local artists to exhibit, and taking donations to the Write253 which enters you for a chance to win comics and prizes from other local businesses at $1 per ticket.

Coming again in honor of Tacoma Pride festivities! Working on confirming guests, but we’ll have queer-feminist art vendors with something for everyone celebrating pride and diversity at the shop all day.

Special Guests include:

We’ll be having a special raffle with ticket sales supporting our local branch of Planned Parenthood or also accepting ticket exchange (5 tampons = 1 ticket) with donation of packages of tampons to Rescue Mission Tacoma. Please get in touch via our contact info at the bottom of the page if you would like to donate any items to this special raffle or Donate Now! More details to be finalized. Prizes include items donated by Espionage Cosmetics and the Red Hot Tacoma.

Plus later at the Tacoma Pride Block Party, Destiny City Comics will be hosting a signing with Seattle drag queen Mama Tits. Ticket required, don’t miss it!
