We’re having another comic festival with our neighbors King’s Books and Jankuland!
 
The Destiny City Comics & Arts Festival is a showcase of local comic and art creators and an event where folks can share their work and ideas and make new connections.
 
This time we’re welcoming special guest from Seattle, Matthew Southworth, co-reator of crime drama comic “Stumptown,” which was just turned into a TV series starring Cobie Smulders.
 
Come and meet over a dozen local artists!

Selling Your Comics to a Comic Shop panel at Jet City

Shop owner Michael Fitzgerald of Destiny City Comics and Anne Bean of Emerald Comics Distro will be returning to host a special panel for comic creators or folks interested in the process of how you can get your own comic sold in a comic book store.
 
Be sure to check out this informative panel, ask all your burning questions, and meet some fellow comics creators!

Tacoma’s mini-horror con returns with a vengeance for a fifth year of terror in the Stadium District.
Welcoming back a very special guest Jackey Raye Neyman Jones actress from MANOS: the Hands of Fate, one of the worst films ever made featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
 
We’ll also be hosting a special double-feature and live riff Manos: the Hands of Fate and the sequel Manos Returns. Manos Returns is only available to be shown at screenings like this one so don’t miss it! Manos the Hands of Fate showing will begin at 6:30pm and Manos 2 shortly thereafter, they have an average runtime of 72 mins.

Destiny City Comics & Arts Festival 2019 at Alma Mater

Come meet local artists who make comics! Destiny City Comics is working with Alma Mater Tacoma to host independent writers and artists who can’t wait to sell you their latest comic, zine, or other concoction. The festival includes OVER 33 regional and independent artists, writers and illustrators from across the Pacific Northwest. There will also be music throughout the festival, including a DJ from Jankuland, our favorite consignment and record shop in town!

Destiny City Comics at the Jet City Comic Show

Destiny City Comics will be at the Jet City Comic Show with 3 local comic makers as special guests: Corey Lewis (Sunbakery, Sharknife), Kevin Knodell (Machete Squad, the ‘Stan), and Michael Koehler (Field Guide to Cults and Gangs).
 
Special deals available at the shop all weekend located at 218 Saint Helens Ave., a five minute drive from the convention center.
Convention hours are 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
